Patrick F. Lannon, M.S.
Patrick Lannon received Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Animal Science from the University of Florida. He served as a part-time instructor for Animal Science undergraduates and worked as an analytical and research microbiologist at ABC Research Corporation. He later served as Laboratory Manager of the Analytical Microbiology section at ABC Research.
In 2001, Patrick accepted a Biological Scientist position with the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services Division of Food Safety as a microbiologist in the State Food Laboratory. He was instrumental in setting up a Biological Safety Level 3 laboratory in the Food Lab and served on the Department’s counter-terrorism team.
Patrick currently works in the Division of Food Safety’s Bureau of Food and Meat Inspection as a Biological Administrator. He is responsible for managing the Department’s contracts with FDA to conduct food inspections and USDA to conduct egg and poultry grading.
